Your First Visit

AT ARVADA DENTAL CENTER
We want your first appointment to be comfortable, productive, and free of surprises. Here is everything you need to know before you arrive.

What to Expect at Your First Appointment

Most patients who visit Arvada Dental Center for the first time receive a full exam and consultation. This appointment helps us assess your oral health, review any diagnostic imaging, and determine the right treatment approach for your specific goals. Depending on your situation, some diagnostic work may be completed the same day.

What to Bring to Your First Appointment

  • Health insurance card and any dental insurance information
  • Referral letter from your dentist or specialist if applicable
  • List of all medications you are currently taking, including prescriptions, supplements, and over-the-counter medication
  • Form of payment or credit card information
  • Address of your primary dentist or referring provider
  • Any relevant dental X-rays or records from a previous provider if available
  • A valid photo ID or driver's license
  • If you are under 18, a parent or legal guardian must be present for your appointment

Your Health History Matters

Before any treatment begins, we take the time to review your complete medical history. Certain health conditions such as high blood pressure, diabetes, bleeding disorders, and others can affect how we approach your care. Please let us know about any conditions you are managing so we can plan your treatment safely and effectively.
If you take blood thinners, immunosuppressants, or medications related to bone density, please notify our team in advance of your appointment. In some cases, we may request a medical clearance from your physician before proceeding with surgical treatment. Your safety is the priority at every step.

What Happens During Your First Visit

1

 Review of Health History

We begin by reviewing your medical and dental history to understand your overall health, any conditions that may affect treatment, and your goals for your smile. This step helps us personalize every recommendation we make.
2

Diagnostic Imaging

Depending on your needs, we take X-rays and in many cases a 3D cone beam CT scan. This imaging gives us a detailed view of your bone structure, tooth positions, and anatomy that is essential for accurate diagnosis and treatment planning.
3

Clinical Examination

Dr. Bennett or one of our doctors performs a thorough clinical examination of your teeth, gums, bite, and jaw. We assess the health of your existing teeth and identify any areas that need attention alongside your primary concern.
4

Treatment Discussion

Once we have a complete picture of your oral health, we walk you through your findings and present all available treatment options. We explain the pros, cons, timeline, and cost of each approach so you can make a fully informed decision without any pressure.
5

Your Questions Answered

We set aside time at the end of every first visit for your questions. No question is too small. We want you to leave feeling clear about your options and comfortable with the path forward, whether you are ready to schedule treatment or need time to think it over.
6

Final Shade Assessment

After treatment, we compare your new shade against your starting point. Most patients achieve 6 to 8 shades brighter in one visit. We provide aftercare instructions and a touch-up kit.

Bringing a Child to Their First Appointment?

If your child is under 18, a parent or legal guardian must be present for the consultation and must sign any required consent forms before treatment can begin. We welcome families at Arvada Dental Center and do our best to make younger patients feel at ease from the moment they arrive.

Flexible Financing for Teeth Whitening

At Arvada Dental Center, we keep professional whitening affordable. We offer flexible financing options and our membership club members receive exclusive savings on cosmetic treatments. Most insurance plans do not cover cosmetic whitening, but our financing providers make it easy to spread the cost into manageable monthly payments.
